Requirements

To be a good fit for the Maintenance Supervisor opportunity you should have:
  • A 2-year degree in Maintenance, Electronics, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 to 4 years of experience in maintenance in manufacturing environments, ideally in the automotive industry.

  • Technical understanding of machines and their components, with strong preference given to experience with electrical and/or PLC equipment.
  • Experience with welding as well as pneumatic, and conveyors equipment.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including familiarity with:
    • MS Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.

We are hiring for our B and C shifts.
  • The B shift runs Tuesday through Saturday from 6 PM to 4:30 AM.
  • The C shift runs Friday and Saturday from 6 AM to 4:30 PM, and Sunday and Monday from 6 PM to 4:30 AM.
You may work extra hours on a fairly frequent basis, but you also will play a role in helping to minimize extra hours.

The Role

Our Chicago facility has about 300 employees involved in material handling, assembly, and material sequencing. Our main deliverables are fascia, or front and rear bumper assemblies, and overheads, or interior cabin headliners/ceilings.

Reporting to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager, you will supervise four to five Maintenance Technicians. Overall this team's goal is to minimize downtime for the production lines. This will include performing preventative and predictive maintenance as well as responding to issues that arise.

More specifically, you will:
  • Support production in reducing and eliminating equipment / tooling downtime and scrap, utilizing good analytical methodologies. You'll oversee preventive / predictive maintenance, spare part inventory, and PLC upgrades.
  • Supervise daily activities of both shifts (planning and scheduling), ensuring a positive team atmosphere that promotes high morale. You'll develop skilled and disciplined team members, and conduct employee performance reviews.
  • Maintain and monitor a healthy and safe work environment utilizing MSDSs for the facility and following all company, local, state and federal guidelines.
  • Establish projects, plans and spare parts to ensure equipment and tooling is maintained to enable mean time to repair (MTTR) of 30 minutes or less. This will include establishing and maintaining disaster recovery plans for current equipment, tooling and projects.
  • Perform hands on duties as required. You'll maintain and monitor manufacturing plant facilities, inside and outside (loading docks, etc.), assist in implementing projects, and take part in VA/VE type activities.
